Physics (regular and co-op)
Physics is the ultimate Science of Nature. Its purpose is to study natural phenomena and to derive the principles and laws that rule all natural processes. Physics students at UOIT benefit from exposure to the cutting‐edge research interests of faculty members in renewable energy, semiconductor devices, microelectronics, materials science, computational physics and astrophysics. You can choose to acquire a wide knowledge of all Physics by following the comprehensive program, or you can specialize in either Astrophysics or Energy and Environmental Physics.
Courses common to all Physics programs include the following:
- Differential Equations
- Electricity and Magnetism I and II
- Fluid Mechanics
- Linear Algebra
- Mechanics I
- Physics Thesis Project I and II
- Quantum Mechanics I
- Statistical Mechanics I
- Statistics and Probability for Physical Science
- Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer
- Waves and Optics
This program has a co-op option.
